My bike is a Kawasaki ER6N from 2010. I use it for commuting and touring in the weekends whenever the Dutch weather allows it.
Customizations
I did a few mods to my bike:
- Headlight: The 2010 model of the ER6N in particular has a hideous headlight imho. I replaced it with a matte black round 7 inch model. It’s mounted with two brackets that attach to the front fork and it uses the existing headlight plugs (I soldered converter cables). The entire mod is non-destructive and totally changes the look of the bike.
- Radiator cover: Because of the smaller headlight, a larger portion of the radiotor was exposed. To prevent damage while riding I installed a matte black radiator cover.
- Buddy seat brackets: For some reason these were metalic color on my bike. I painted them matte black.
- Buddy seat: The original saddle is very ugly. It’s a long stretch of uncomfortable foam. I placed a buddy seat cover to make it look shorter and more sporty. It’s still uncomfortable however 😛
- Mirrors: I switched the original mirrors for ones that can be fitted to the end of your handle bar. It complements the sleeker look I am aiming for.
- Exhaust: The standard exhaust (which is still under the bike in these pictures), while adequate, sounds underwhelming. I installed an aftermarket slip-on Arrow exhaust for a lower/darker sound. I have not removed the DB killer.
- Gear indicator: The 2010 model of the ER6N does not have a gear indicator, so I installed one myself.
- Blinkers: I replaced the standard blinkers with ones that have a slight smokey black glass for a more uniform look.
